Description:  Limestone panel from temple xvii, with glyphs and two figures. a captive kneels before a standing warrior who holds a flint spear and wears a war headdress. the large text to the left records an event at palenque that occurred in ad 490 by ahkal mo' naab' i. the small text above the kneeling figure gives the name of a person captured. the text to the far right describes an event involving kan b'alam sitting on a jaguar-covered bench or pillow.

Notes:  Lc of 9.2.15.9.2 yields a cr of 9 ik' 0 mol. ahkal mo' naab' i's accession is 5 kaban, 0 zotz' (9.3.6.7.17). the capture event recorded as 3 ? 13 kayab has been variously interpreted as 9.3.5.3.0, 9.3.18.6.5, or 9.12.9.12.10. the seating event may have been on 10 chuwen 4 sak (interpreted as either 9.2.4.9.11 or 9.12.15.7.11). ahkal mo' naab' i also known as chaacal i.

Description:  Fragment of limestone panel known as "the bundle sculpture" with glyphs and figures, recovered from the fill of group xvi. three figures carry a large bundle; with a fourth profile just visible at the lower left. the large glyphs give the date 1 april, 731, while the small glyphs between the two figures on the left record the name of ahkal mo' naab iii. all three figures wear tall cone-like headdresses of either paper or fabric.

Description:  Carved limestone panel with three figures. the central figure, k'inich k'an joy chitam ii, stands in a dancing posture holding aloft a serpent-footed axe and wearing the shell ear-piece of gi. his father, k'inich janaab pakal (right), and mother, lady tz'akbu ajaw (left) sit flanking him. pakal holds a small, full-figure k'awiil and lady tz'akbu ajaw holds a personified jester god. the text records an anniversary of the death of his ancestor, k'an joy chitam i.

Description:  Reconstruction of bench 8 (also known as the del rio throne). each leg is carved with the image of a young lord sitting on a bench and holding aloft a waterlily blossom. both lords wear net headdresses that identify them as bakab or pawahtuns. although the center of the bench has been broken, still remaining is a left-facing individual wearing a large bead necklace and headdress composed of a waterbird eating a fish.
